- Early career: landscape design and maintenance in New Jersey and South Florida, including founding Dynasti Landsculptors, specializing in custom design, living walls, and tropical plants.
- North Carolina: launched Asheville Aquaponics, operating an organic farm and retail store, selling produce to local restaurants, and teaching aquaponics system design.
